The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said some parts of Delta State will experience a blackout for three hours on Wednesday.
TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, in a statement on Tuesday, explained the need to fix some equipment at their Delta power station.
The work will take place from 10 am to 1 pm on Wednesday.
“The maintenance aims to address a fault on the 132kV Delta1 busbar,” Mbah said.
“Consequently, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will not be able to offtake power to supply Agbarho/Eku, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Beta Glass, Aladja, Isoko/Kwale, and Imoniyame.
“Additionally, customers on the 33kV Effurun, Enerhen, PTI, Sapele, Refinery 1, Refinery 2, and Warri feeders, which emanate from the Effurun Transmission Substation, will also be affected.”
The company apologised for the inconvenience the blackout may cause, promising to restore power as soon as the repairs are concluded.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), last week announced that parts of the capital city would not have electricity from January 6 to 21 because the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) needed to move some power equipment along a major expressway.
