A member of the Zazzau Emirate Council in Kaduna State, Alhaji Rilwan Pate, has slumped and died while attending an event in Zaria local government council of the state.
The deceased, until his untimely death, was in charge of health matters in the Zazzau Emirate Council.
He was reported to be attending the event on Thursday along with the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamalli when the tragedy occurred.
The deceased, who was the ‘Sarkin Yakin Zazzau’, was reported to be with the Emir of Zazzau at the event on Thursday, when he slumped and was rushed to the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria where he was confirmed dead.
In a statement issued by the media and publicity officer of the Zazzau Emirate Council, Abdullahi Kwarbai, the council expressed sadness over the death of Alhaji Pate, describing it as a great loss.
“It is with great sadness that the Zazzau Emirate Council announces the passing of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, a Council Member of the Emirate “.
Emir Bamalli condoled with the family of the deceased on the death, which he described as the ” will of Allah “.
He described the deceased as hard-working, dedicated, and very religious, whose vacuum will not easily be replaced.
The late Pate has been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
