Various individuals and groups have expressed interest in protesting against hardship and high cost of goods and services.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has summoned its state chapter chairmen in response to planned nationwide protests against President Bola Tinubu’s government in August.

Various individuals and groups have expressed interest in protesting against hardship and high cost of goods and services.

APC national secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, announced this after the 153rd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja.

Senator Ajibola acknowledged that the Tinubu’s administration, since taking office in 2023, has confronted numerous challenges, predominantly economic in nature. He stressed that many of these economic issues are global problems requiring collective and comprehensive solutions.

Ajibola distinguished between the protesters’ concerns, categorising some as political and others as constitutional, which can only be addressed through ongoing amendments in the National Assembly.

He urged those planning protests to reconsider and have faith in the government’s efforts to address the country’s economic challenges.

He urged them to trust the President’s efforts to improve the economy, assuring that challenges will be resolved.
