Apopular Nigerian music producer, ThankGod Omori popularly known as TG Omori has undergone a failed kidney transplant in Lagos State.

The cinematographer also noted that he had gone into the theatre three times already and that he was not just destined to die today.

He wrote, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St Nicolas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.”

“Went into this theater 3 times, wasn’t just destined to die today.

“Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidney so I could live again.”

SaharaReporters had reported that TG Omori in December 2023 complained about how he was hospitalised for half of the year for consuming fake drinks. 

He wrote: “It’s all fun and jokes but Fake drinks left me hospitalized most part of this year.”

Nigerian security operatives have been clamping down on manufacturers of fake drinks in the country. 

In March, the Nigeria Police Force raided an illegal factory producing fake alcoholic drinks in Lagos State.

The State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin made this known via a post on X, adding that four people behind the fake factory business were also arrested and some of their fake products were recovered by the force. 

He wrote: “Officers of Isokoko Division, acting on credible information, raided a house in Agege where fake alcoholic drinks were being produced. The police arrested four people behind the illegal distillery and recovered fake drinks, empty bottles and labels of different brands. The investigation is ongoing.”

Also, last December, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control intercepted counterfeiters in the Eziukwu market in Aba, Abia state, who were producing a variety of fake beverages, including wines, soft drinks, and other items worth more than N750million. 

The agency said the activity was carried out with other security agencies following a tip-off.

NDLEA added that some of the nefarious activities of the counterfeiters included the manufacturing of all kinds of adulterated products, especially different kinds of wine from a wide variety of brands ranging from Seaman Schnapps, Henessy, Four Cousins, Carlo Rossi, Jenney, Chelsea London Dry Gin, Schnapp Dry Gin, McDowells, Black Labels, Gordons, Martell, Campari, Smirnoff ice, Eva non-alcoholic drink, Evra non-alcoholic drink, Cartel, among others.
