“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” Tinubu said, emphasising the need for collaborative efforts to tackle international issues.
Tinubu highlighted Trump’s previous tenure as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, noting the American people’s continued trust in his leadership.
“Trump’s victory reflects the trust and confidence the American people have placed in his leadership,” Tinubu added, commending Americans for their dedication to democratic values.
President Tinubu said he also anticipated that Trump’s return would bring “an era of earnest, beneficial, and reciprocal economic and development partnerships between Africa and the United States.”
Recognising the United States’ powerful role in global affairs, Tinubu expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to guide the world towards “peace and prosperity.”
The statement reads in parts, “President Tinubu looks forward to strengthening the ties between Nigeria and the United States amid the complex challenges and opportunities of the contemporary world.
