The Lawmaker representing Bodinga and Shuni federal constituency from sokoto state Dr Shehu Balarabe Kakale, called for a complete reform of the Almajiri system of education to meet current global realities.
Dr. Kakale stated this in an interview with newsmen in abuja.
He explained that if Nigeria is to achieve its Millennium development goals the over 15 million out of school children must be properly catered for adding that the Almajiri students have been neglected for so long as situation he said must not be allowed to continue.
The Lawmaker also pointed out that reforming the Almajiri system is not about islamizing Nigeria ut about the development of the country in such a way that would allow for inclusive growth and development.
He therefore called for the recognition of the Almajiri system in the society by adding vocational and computer education to the system.
