Abuja Electricity Company Announces Blackout In Nigeria’s Capital Over Bad Weather Conditions

The power distribution company which announced the power outage in a notice on Wednesday night, said Durumi and its surroundings would be affected.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a blackout in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory because of bad weather conditions, resulting from heavy rainfall in the city.

It noted that its engineers were working on rectifying the fault as soon as possible.

The DisCo said, “We would like to inform residents in parts of Durumi and surrounding areas in Abuja that the current power outage is due to inclement weather conditions affecting the feeders serving the areas.

“Our team of engineers is working tirelessly to rectify the fault and restore power supply as quickly as possible. We regret any inconvenience caused.”

Heavy rainfall between Tuesday night and Wednesday led to widespread damage across the country, resulting in flooding that destroyed homes and properties in Lagos and other states, with reports indicating significant disruption and displacement.
