Anti-Graft Commission, EFCC Arrests Woman For Spraying N1000 Notes

She was arrested on Monday, by investigators of the Gombe Zonal Command of the commission for allegedly abusing the Nigerian currency, the EFCC’s Head Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a woman, Janty Emmanuel, in Gombe State, Northeast for allegedly spraying N1000 notes in an event.

She was arrested on Monday, by investigators of the Gombe Zonal Command of the commission for allegedly abusing the Nigerian currency, the EFCC’s Head Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Oyewale said that her arrest followed what he described as an “intelligence that spotted her spraying Naira notes at a social event”.

According to the statement, upon her arrest, “the suspect was shown the video where she was dancing at G-Connect, Tumfure, Gombe State and spraying Naira notes of N1000 denomination”.

Oyewale said that she has admitted committing the crime.

“She will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement indicated.
