Breaking: How Voice Of Nigeria Journalist, Hamisu Was Stabbed To Death By Nephew, Friend – Nigerian Police

According to the statement signed by Zamfara NUJ Secretary, Ibrahim Gada, Danjibga’s remains were found by some Islamic schoolchildren.

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has said it has arrested at least two suspects in connection with the murder of Hamisu Danjibga, a reporter with the Voice of Nigeria in the state.

Mr Hamisu Danjibga, a journalist who went missing in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria had been found dead in a soakaway behind his house.

A statement by the Nigeria Union Journalist (NUJ), in September, recalled that Danjibga, a reporter with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), went missing earlier but was later found dead.

According to the statement signed by Zamfara NUJ Secretary, Ibrahim Gada, Danjibga’s remains were found by some Islamic schoolchildren.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu, while parading the suspects at a press briefing in Gusau axis of the state on Tuesday identified the suspects as Danjigba’s nephew, Mansur Haruna, and his friend, Ibrahim Garba, both of whom conspired to kidnap the veteran journalist.

He explained that the suspects stabbed the journalist to death when the journalist resisted their move, noting that the suspects confessed to the crime during investigation and some items belonging to the late Danjibga were recovered from them.

At least three others suspected to be bandits, who specialise in kidnapping and raping women were also paraded, while another person was also paraded for alleged supply of arms from Abia State, according to the commissioner.

He maintained that at the conclusion of investigation, all the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
