EKITI DECIDE 2018 : EKITI – THE LAND FLOWING WITH MILK AND HONEY SAYS, APC STATE CHAIRMAN EKITI
By Dr. Squared
The Chairman, All Progressives Congress APC Ekiti State, Chief Olajide Awe has described Ekiti State as the land flowing with Milk and honey ahead of the July 14 governorship election in the State.
In a chat with Citizens Information Network in his office, Chief Awe highlights the plans of the APC, expectations, and urged the public to vote APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the next governor of Ekiti State.
He said, “Our expectations, having prepared vigorously for the election, is to become victorious.
Ekiti represents the Land flowing with Milk and honey. APC is a progressive party and all over the world we know what Progressive stands for. Ours is to make life comfortable for the citizens, We want to put food on the tables of our people, Create conducive environment where business will thrive and where people will be comfortable with whatever they are doing. This translates to better life for the majority of our people in Ekiti State.
“We will look at the areas of education, commerce, Agriculture, and human capital development, which I believe we are going to do properly more than what is on ground. When all these things are put together, then the much awaited dividend of democracy will now be enjoyed.
“These are the core areas which we are going to exhibit our expertise and at the end of the day, a typical Ekiti person will be proud to be an Ekiti man”.
Quizzed about the low budget allocated to Ekiti from the Federal Government, Chief Awe talked about the plans of the Fayemi led APC if elected into power to maximize funds appropriately.
“You can’t compare us to Rivers or Lagos State because those states contribute immensely to the revenue of the Nation. But we are assuring the public that what we get from the Federation account and the local revenue we generate internally will be judiciously used.
“This is a civil service State, and Wages and salaries are very key. We will not do things we can not finish. We will cut our clothes not according to our size but according to the cloth that we have because we will not bite more than we can chew, so that at the end of the day we will be comfortable. Allocation weather big or small, we will plan with judiciously. We will try to avoid these faults in administration and give our people the best.
We will provide security, to make sure everyone goes to bed with their eyes closed.”
The Chairman went ahead to advice the electorate to be of good conduct during the election and maintain law and order.
“The electorate should conduct themselves under the available law and order, and adhere to instruction too. They should know that they will sleep on their beds as they prepared it. The last three years in the state has not been favorable to them. A situation whereby government is owing them several months of unpaid salary, will they want to go back to such?
“These are some of the reasons I am urging the populace to consider APC and vote for Fayemi come July 14”.
He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, to be alert in their duties and see that the election is free and fair.
“I want to appeal to INEC to be seriously alert to their duties and make sure things go smoothly. On our own part as a Party, we will make sure we conduct ourselves amicably and see to a free and fair poll”.
