The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the approval of free bus services for residents of the state through the Edo City Transport Service (ECTS).

This initiative aligns with his administration’s vision, “A NEW EDO HAS RISEN.”

The free bus service will operate within the Benin metropolis and across the three Senatorial districts of Edo State, covering both intra- and intercity routes.

According to a statement from Fred Itua, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, this initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of all Edo citizens.

“The bus services will alleviate transportation challenges. Residents planning to travel within Benin and beyond will now do so without incurring additional costs,” the statement noted.

The routes will also include areas in Edo Central, such as Ekpoma, Iruekpen, Irrua, and Uromi.

Additionally, Edo North will be fully included, with Agbede, Auchi, Okpella, Fugar, and other regions benefiting from the free transportation scheme initiated by Governor Okpebholo.
