Out of his desire to revive the educational standard of people in Ekiti State, and to give opportunities to the less privileged, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Ekiti State, Ambassador Ayodeji Lawrence Ayodele, has given scholarships to 10,000 Ekiti indigenes in tertiary education institutions.
The APGA candidate jointly gave the awards in partnership with Global Agency in Abuja.
Mr. John Adeniyi, on behalf of the agency, described the initiative as patriotic and explained that the scholarship award is in phases
‘’The ongoing is the first phase of the scholarship awards being given to 10,000 Ekiti indigenes. It goes to students/prospective students of the National Certificate of Education (NCE).
Adeniyi said that the phases for university degrees and higher degrees are on the pipeline.
In his remark, Ambassador Ayodeji said that the scholarship award began with the NCE students because Ekiti needs qualified teachers in both primary and secondary schools.
He said that APGA gives quality education a priority because it is a great weapon to fight ignorance.
