EKITI DECIDE 2018 : WE WILL ERADICATE POVERTY AND OCCUPY THE YOUTHS OF EKITI – ADP LEGAL ADVISER SAYS

By Doktorsquared

Ekiti State Action Democratic Party Legal Adviser, Barr. Adigun Bankole Collins, has come out to say the Otunba Segun Adewale led administration if voted into power will eradicate poverty and engage the youths of the state.

Barr. Adigun made the call in an interview with Citizens Information Network in Ekiti, stressing the need for an alternative government in the state. One which is led by an Entrepreneurally minded Otunba Adewale rather than the regular politicians in the past.

He hinted that education shall be a stepping stone in transforming the minds of the people into a more business and money making oriented set. He sighted the need to invest in farming as a means to curb poverty and also train youths through vocational established centers across all local government in the state.

“Poverty is the Order of the day in Ekiti State. If elected into power, we will make sure the farmers are going to be more empowered as they will be given money to farm. We shall provide machinery for them to such an extent that Ekiti State will be able to feed the entire Nation.

“Education shall be more like a stepping stone in our administration. The education curriculum will be changed as my principal will say “the situation of the country has gone beyond what you studied to what do you know and can do”.

“Otunba will convert the theoretical knowledge of the people into resources to make wealth.
“These are some of the programs that Otunba Segun Adewale led administration intended to carry out if voted into power”.

On the area of Youth empowerment, the ADP Legal Adviser talked about creation of vocational centres for youths, creating jobs and promoting sports
“We are going to create both vocational and sports centers in all local government in Ekiti, to take youths out of the streets. Those with talents shall be sponsored to any level. We will engage our youths, rather than sit at home after school, we will create jobs and enroll those with special skills into any of the vocational centres created. As a matter of fact, the major focus of our manifesto are the Youths in particular.

“Electricity will be immensely improved to attract foreign investors to Ekiti State.”

An established business man, Barr. Adigun spoke on the business ideas Otunba Adewale could transmit into the state if elected.

“Someone who started business from a zero level, but now is making a lot of turnover, even more than the State itself is making, has employed over 300 staff with more than 70 percent from Ekiti state, will be able to employ more people and pay them accordingly if elected and that person is Otunba Adewale. He is going to be the first Entrepreneur in the country to be voted in as governor of a State. Others are earning salaries and are being paid, and they can’t do anything.

“This is a State that has nothing right now, and it needs someone that has turned nothing into something, and that is why he fits in perfectly”.

Barr. Adigun also spoke on the role the ADP has been playing in sensitizing the people of Ekiti State to be of good comport during the polls and also make sure they get their Parmanent Voters Card (PVC) and exercise their legal franchise to vote come July 14.

“The Party constitution itself gives room to have different executives at various levels, and that alone has helped us so much that we are able to reach out to the grassroots and sensitize them on how to go about getting their PVC, and how to conduct themselves during the election to avoid violence. Unlike other Political parties that limit their reach to excos, we reach down below. So from the top to the unit level, everyone including the youths are being taken care of.”

He went on to advise the youths of Ekiti to be peaceful and to not allow any Party to manipulate them into causing chaos during the election.
“I will advise the Youths to be peaceful and violent free because most of the people using them to perpetrate these chaos have their children in other peaceful places living freely. They must remember that after being used during elections, they won’t have any benefits after that. So it is high time we do what is right and not do what we are being ordered to do by any political cabal.

On his message to the electorate, he said,
“This is the time for us to take a proper decision. I am pursuing a course for Otunba Segun Adewale. There is a need to have an alternative to whatever we have been having in the past. Let us vote wisely this time around otherwise, it is going to be difficult.
