The Nigeria Police Force has raided an illegal factory producing fake alcoholic drinks in Lagos State.

The State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin made this known via a post on X, adding that four people behind the fake factory business were also arrested and some of their fake products were recovered by the force.

Fake beverages and alcoholic drinks have been dominating the Nigerian market in recent times.

The agency said the activity was carried out with other security agencies following a tip-off.

NDLEA added that some of the nefarious activities of the counterfeiters included the manufacturing of all kinds of adulterated products, especially different kinds of wine from a wide variety of brands ranging from Seaman Schnapps, Henessy, Four Cousins, Carlo Rossi, Jenney, Chelsea London Dry Gin, Schnapp Dry Gin, McDowells, Black Labels, Gordons, Martell, Campari, Smirnoff ice, Eva non-alcoholic drink, Evra non-alcoholic drink, Cartel, among others.
