The Nigeria Police Force has begun investigation on the physical assault of a middle-aged man by some police officers in a viral video.

The video captured the police officers in the most unprofessional manner beating up motorists.
The unfortunate incident, it was gathered happened around Alausa area of Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.
While six officers were actually involved in the assault, another one was holding a gun nearby. At a point, he released one gunshot in the air.
Meanwhile, while he was watching, three others were holding the young man while three others punched him.
The young man who did not respond to the assault was only overheard saying “you will pay this. Let me call my brother. You will pay for this,”
However, reacting to the video on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on X platform said that the incident is not acceptable. Noting that Lagos Command has been directed to address the matter and update the public on the fact of the case.
“This is not acceptable. The matter has been referred to Lagos Command for investigation. The PPRO Lagos, #BenHundeyin, has been directed to address the matter and update the public on the fact of the case. Thanks. #BenHundeyin, #PoliceNG, #LagosPoliceNG,” he wrote.
