The Nigerian Senate has postponed the screening of seven ministerial nominees originally set for Tuesday, now rescheduled for Wednesday.

President Bola Tinubu recently submitted these nominees, which include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Dingyadi for Labour and Employment, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu for State, Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole for Industry, Trade, and Investment.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, by Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, the Senate stated that the postponement aims to provide the nominees with additional time to finalise their documentation and complete the necessary pre-screening processes.

The statement read, “This is to allow all nominees to conclude all aspects of documentation and pre-screening exercises.

“The screening has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12 noon prompt. We appreciate your understanding and patience,” Lado said.
