OVER N30BN UNACCOUNTED FOR BY FORMER ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNOR

More than 20 billions naira was Declared missing and unaccounted for in the coffer of Zamfara State Government during the reign of AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar of All Progressive’s Congress (APC). The money which is part of the state share on Federal Roads constructions collected from Federal ministry of Works.

The state commissioner of Finance Hon.Rabi’u Garba stated this at a press conference held at the Ministry’s Headquarters conference Hall Samaru, Gusau.

Hon.Rabi’u Garba said those that collected the huge sum of money on behalf of Zamfara State, have no connection in whatsoever with the State.

He therefore call on Anti-corruption Agencies and International community to come to the aid of the people of the state by recovering their looted fund and prosecute those committed in siphoning the state resources in accordance with money laundry acts.

Hon.Rabiu Garba said the sum of 37.4 billions naira diverted was ten times of the state monthly statutory allocations from the federal government account and was collected on behalf of the people of Zamfara State by the Director General of Nigerian Governor’s Forum and a female staff of the Association.

The money which is said to be the state share of 14 Federal Roads constructed in the state by Zamfara state Government in anticipation for refunding.

According to him neither the record keept to trace the transaction nor any project executed with the money collected and no any financial principles,guidelines or acceptable money trading procedures applied in securing the money.
