Controversial rapper, Speed Darlington, has reportedly escaped an alleged assassination attempt just days after his release from Kuje prison.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the musician claimed unknown gunmen opened fire on his car, leaving it riddled with bullet holes.
According to him, the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday as he was leaving a nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The footage, which has since gone viral, shows the rear of the vehicle severely damaged, with visible bullet marks.
The rapper accused an unnamed individual of orchestrating the attack, though he refrained from providing further details.
“Long face sent killers my way and I haven’t even posted anything. Broooooo, is this necessary? You try to take my life. Really?” he captioned the post.
His allegations have sparked widespread speculation on social media, with many linking the incident to his recent controversies and publicised detention.
Speed Darlington was released from Kuje prison less than a week ago where he was held for undisclosed charges.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, blames Afrofusion star Burna Boy for the prolonged detention.
